These small birds (Eurasian Tree Sparrows) feasted on any crumbs left behind by diners at the resturant. When there were no easy pickings available, they rested in the sand nearby. Wary of people, they rarely stayed still and flitted around constantly from one spot to another.

This baby elephant was being trained to give small children rides on Bang Tao Beach, Phuket. His mother was there also giving rides along the beach.

The beach at Bang Tao is covered with small holes that are dug by small sand crabs - some only 1-2 cm in diameter. They blend so well with the sand that they are hard to spot unless they move.

The local cattle in Phuket roamed seemingly freely around, their ropes dragging in the grass. These are pictured on the roadside near our resort, They are a hazard to be watched for on the roads.
